In

I talked with many people inviting them to join me in this madness of making my first feature based on a novel I love!

After wander around, life allows me to do the scriptwriting along with Marianela Maldonado. In other words, Mary is the scriptwriter in this story.

Frank Baiz, who by these days is working in making a software for scriptwriting made specially for LatinAmerica, he is to read our first draft and give us his point of view as well.

Complete Happyness!

Our first task is to read the novel as many times we need to make it flesh and bones.

Mary told me that is the method Ruth Prawer Javhala uses: to read many times the novel without writing anything.

Just thoughts, images… it´s time to wander about within the story of Mario, Karla and Gaby… and Caracas, always roaring at the background

Cover of the book “I would like to make LA HUELLA DEL BISONTE, into a film. Were my first words written in an email to Hector, its author.

Nowadays Hector is my friend, after made the confessions that begin the good and long friendships.

LA HUELLA DEL BISONTE (THE BISON TRACE) is the fist novel by Héctor Torres, a writer from Caracas, who in this story tells about an impossible love set in down town Caracas. It’s a story full of erotism and talks about loneliness, the inacapacity of love and of connection with other human being. It talks about the feelings get perverted and how it throughs us into isolation. And it is set in CARACAS! My city!

Perfect for my necessity of telling myself, telling my Caracas, through other people´s stories

The story talks about KARLA a teenage ninphe that seduces grown ups and withing it, experiments with the power that the erotic magnetism gives her, plus it exposes her own urgency of some human contact mixed up with her sexual awakening. Talks about MARIO, a soap operas writer, tied to his own desire of hunting a past time and the energy of youth. Like the cave man tried to do by drawing bisons (Spanish: bisonte) on the cave walls, believing that would give them some sort of power over that incredibly energetic animal.

When I first began to read it, I used to read episodes to my then partner. He got really pissed off with the resolution of the story. By the end of it, he said that Mario´s head would end up into a foot-ball in La Planta (a jail in Caracas) hahahahahaha

The guy is not my partner anymore, but the ideas and the creative work-in-progress remain.

This blog will tell the steps, thoughts and images on how we make LA HUELLA DEL BISONTE into a film, from the writing of the script.
